Children, elderly, expecting mothers and people with DNA repair issues should avoid this equipment. The skin dose is closer to 1/20 to 1/50th of a chest x-ray. Less penetrating [<50KVp] x-rays/gamma delivers most of the energy to the skin and underling tissue. The whole-body dose used is a metric of internal organ cancer rate and is not applicable to lower energy x-rays.

The machine exposure is perpotional to resoution for a fixed signal to noise ratio. 0.5 mm resoution requires 10x the exposure or [brightness] as a 2.5mm image.
